Isaac Mayer Wise

Isaac Mayer Wise (29 March 1819, Steingrub (now Lomnička, Czech Republic), Austrian Empire – 26 March 1900, Cincinnati), was an American Reform rabbi, editor, and author. At his death he was called "the foremost rabbi in America."

My grandmother (1898-2003) and great-grandmother (1867-1969), both born in Canton, Mississippi, used to say the grace after meals from this Isaac M. Wile prayer book. I have never seen the actual book, but I have a copy of the prayer written out in my grandmother’s handwriting. She recited it from memory.
